Child finds 10th century Viking treasure in the Baltic Sea

Coins, rings, pearls and silver bracelets of more than a thousand years were discovered on the German island of Ruegen in the Baltic Sea, reports the AP news agency.
The first finds were discovered in January in the Schaprode area by two amateur archaeologists, one of whom was only 13 years old, according to the AP.
"This is the largest treasure of this kind of coin in the south-east of the Baltic region," said the statement released Monday by the archaeological center of Mecklenburg in northern Germany. The treasure has about 600 coins and different jewels.
